morning after overnight retention of urine. The anticholinergic effects of his drug treatment for schizophrenia may have been a contributing factor. Moreover, schizophrenic patients have been reported to have detrusor hypereflexia. Full bladder with possible outflow obstruction in presence of raised intraabdominal pressure during convulsions could have resulted in a ruptured bladder in our patient. The cystogram in our patient revealed the rent in the dome of the diaphragm. The bladder is protected anteriorly by pubic bone, inferolaterally by the urogenital diaphragm and obturator internus, leaving the dome unprotected, covered only by peritoneum. Our patient may have some similarity with two patients who developed bladder rupture following electroconvulsive therapy. In these patients, bladder rupture was attributed to powerful abdominal muscle contraction during an unmodified seizure on a distended bladder on a background of anticholinergic medication. The effect of interval training and consumption of Urtica dioica hydroalcoholic extract on Heat shock protein 70 and Extracellular matrix metalloproteinase inducer in C57 rats with melanoma cancer

Introduction: It has been suggested that targeted therapy of growth and immune factors may lead to more effective inhibition of tumor proliferation and recurrence in melanoma cancer. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of interval training and consumption of Urtica dioica hydroalcoholic extract on Heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) and Extracellular matrix metalloproteinase inducer (...

P-11: Evaluation of Heat Shock Protein A2 in Male Rats before and after Varicocele Induction

Background: Varicocele is a major cause of male infertility, as it may impair spermatogenesis through several distinct pathophysiological mechanisms including hypoxia, renal-adrenal reflux, hormonal dysfunction, autoimmunity, oxidative stress and hyperthermia. HSP70s are members of the heat shock protein (HSP) family, which are considered intracellular chaperones. Their expressions can increase...

The Effect of Heat Shock on Production of Recombinant Human Interferon Alpha 2a (rhIFN α -2a) by Escherichia coli

Recombinant human interferon alpha 2a (rhIFN α -2a) production and cell growth were monitored in a set of genetically modified E. coli strains (MSD1519, MSD1520, MSD 1521, MSD 1522, MSD 1523) producing rhIFN α -2a. The growth was followed at OD 600 nm, changes in cell physiology were detected by pyrolysis mass spectrometry (PyMS) of cell biomass and recombinant protein production was determined...

Plasma paraoxonase, sphingosine-1-phosphate, total sialic acid, and heat shock protein-27 in the liver of the sheep naturally infected with Cysticercus tenuicollis: Evidence on pathological changes

The present study aimed to investigate whether sphingosine 1 phosphate (S1P), paraoxonase (PON), total sialic acid (TSA), and heat shock protein-27 (HSP27) are altered in the sheep during infection of the liver with Cysticercus tenuicollis. This study was conducted on40 healthy sheep and40 sheep with Cysticercus tenuicollis infection. The infected and non-infected animals were selected based on...

Myocardial accumulation and localization of the inducible 70-kDa heat shock protein, Hsp70, following exercise.

Exercise increases the 70-kDa heat shock protein (Hsp70) in the myocardium, and this exercise-induced increase is associated with significantly improved cardiac recovery following insult. However, while heat shock has been shown to elevate Hsp70 primarily in the cardiac vasculature of the myocardium, the localization following exercise is unknown. Male Sprague-Dawley rats performed continuous t...

High Sensitivity C–Reactive Protein and Im-munoglobulin G against Chlamydia Pneumo-niae and Chlamydial Heat Shock Protein-60 in Ischemic Heart Disease

Background: Inflammation and infectious agents such as Chlamydia pneumoniae have been associated with cardiovascular disease. Objective: To evaluate the serum high sensitivity C - reactive protein (hs-CRP) and antibodies against Chlamydia pneumoniae and Chlamydial heat shock protein-60 (Cp-HSP60) in patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD). Methods: 62 patients with IHD having either acute my...
